Refunds & cancellation

Buying and selling gear is free
Posting a listing, browsing, filtering and messaging cost nothing. There is nothing to refund, because there is nothing to pay. We never touch the money between a buyer and a seller, so if a deal goes wrong we cannot refund you: there is nothing of yours in our hands. Don't get done is what to read instead.
Surf shop slots
A slot is a monthly subscription. You are charged once a month from the day you start, until you stop it.
- Cancel any time, from your slot page or the link in your Paddle receipt. It takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for. Nothing is charged after that.
- The slot stays up until the end of that paid month. You bought it, you keep it.
- Full refund within 14 days of your first payment, for any reason at all, no questions. Ask and it goes back to the card it came from.
- After 14 days we refund the current month if the fault is ours: the site was down for a serious stretch, your slot was not showing when it should have been, or we removed it for a reason that turned out to be wrong. Just ask.
- Changed your mind mid-month is not usually a refund. Cancel and ride out the month you have paid for.
- If we pull your slot over the content rules in the terms, you get the unused part of the month back.
How to ask
Email shops@jetsam.surf from the address the slot is booked under, and say which slot. You get an answer within two working days. Approved refunds are processed by Paddle and usually land back on the card within five to ten working days, depending on your bank.
Paddle.com Market Limited is the merchant of record for slot payments, which is why the charge on your statement says Paddle and why the refund comes from them. Their buyer terms apply alongside ours; you can also raise a refund request directly with them from your receipt.
Your statutory rights
If you buy as a consumer in the EU or UK you have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract, which is what the 14-day line above is. Buying as a business, that right does not apply, but we honour the 14 days anyway. Nothing here takes away a right you have by law.
