Terms
Last updated 13 September 2026. Using Jetsam means you are fine with all of this.
1. Who you are dealing with
Business details are not configured. Set LEGAL_ENTITY, LEGAL_REG_NO, LEGAL_ADDRESS and SUPPORT_EMAIL before sending this site to Paddle for review.
Jetsam runs at https://jetsam.surf.
2. What this site is
A noticeboard for second-hand surf gear with a deadline on it. People post what they are selling and when they fly, other people find it and message them. That is the entire service.
We are not a party to any sale. We do not own the gear, inspect it, hold your money, ship anything, or guarantee that either person turns up. Money and boards change hands between two people at a beach, with us nowhere near it.
3. Your account
Login is an email address and a 6-digit code. No password, so keep your email account secure, because anyone in it can get into yours here. One account per person. You are responsible for what is posted from it.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. If you are not, don't use the site.
4. What you post
You keep ownership of your words and photos. You give us permission to show them on the site while the listing is up, and that permission ends when the listing does.
Don't post: gear that is not yours to sell, stolen goods, anything you have described dishonestly, anything illegal where you are or where the buyer is, other people's photos, other people's contact details, or a listing that is really an advert for a business. Businesses wanting to be seen here buy a slot.
We can take down a listing, or an account, without warning and without explaining ourselves, and we will if something looks wrong.
5. Listings expire
A listing disappears the day after the departure date on it. That is the point of the site and not a fault. Nothing is archived for you, so keep your own copy if it matters.
6. Messages
A message you send goes out as an email with your address as the reply-to, so the other person can see it and reply directly. You are told this before you send. There are limits on how many you can send a day, and they exist to stop spam.
Don't use the message box to advertise, to scrape addresses, or to harass anybody.
7. Surf shop slots
The ten boxes down the sides of the browse page are sold monthly to shops. The full arrangement, what you get and how to stop, is on the slots page and in refunds and cancellation.
Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited, who are the merchant of record for those sales. They take the payment, issue the receipt and handle VAT and sales tax. Their own terms apply to the payment itself. We never see or store card details.
A slot is one image, one link and one line of text. We can refuse or remove any of them: no adult content, no gambling, no crypto, nothing misleading, nothing illegal. If we pull a slot for that reason you get the rest of the month back.
8. No warranty, and the limit of what we owe you
The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be up, that listings are accurate, that people are honest, or that a board is worth what somebody is asking.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for a deal that goes wrong, a board that turns out to be a wreck, someone who does not turn up, or money you hand over. Where we are liable for something despite all that, it is capped at what you have actually paid us in the previous twelve months, which for anyone who is not a sponsor is nothing.
None of this removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be signed away.
9. Changes and endings
These terms can change; the date at the top says when they last did, and a change that actually affects sponsors gets emailed to them. You can stop using the site whenever you like, and ask us to delete your account by writing to shops@jetsam.surf.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the country the operator is registered in, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you keep the protection of your own country's law and can bring a claim there.
