Don't get done
We introduce people and that is all. Nobody here checks a board for you, holds your money or chases anyone down afterwards. Two minutes of care at the meet-up is the whole of your protection.
Meeting up
- Meet in daylight, somewhere public.
- Never send a deposit to someone you haven't met. Ever. For any reason. This is the one that actually costs people money.
- Pay when the board is in your hands, not before.
- If the price seems too good, it's someone else's stolen board.
Checking the board
- Press along the rails and around the fin boxes. Soft spots mean water.
- Hold it up to the light. Delamination shows as cloudy patches.
- Look at the tail and the nose, they take the hits.
- Honest photos of the dings are a good sign. A seller hiding them is not.
